Using a working standard

To protect the sensitive BAM white standard, ColorLite
supplies robust working-standards as an option.
These working standards have a glossy surface and
can be cleaned using an alcohol cleaner, such as
isopropyl.
In "Settings" - "System" switch on the option "Use
working standard". This mode can cause confusion
when the wrong standard is used to calibrate and is
why a warning message is displayed.
When activated the calibration menu of the sph xs1
will show a second menu option "Working standard"
as well as the "BAM Standard".
Instructions for using this function see also in chapter
5.1.1.1 Calibration with BAM- and Working-Standard.

6.1.8 Calibration warning

The sph xs1 has a calibration warning function. This
informs the user that a recalibration is needed.
The sensitivity of this function
can be adjusted in "Settings"
– "System" – "Calibration
warning".
The sensitivity can be selected
as an index of 0 (off) to 9 (most
sensitive setting). Select the
desired level with the arrow keys
and confirm with "Enter".
Time interval
A time interval warning since the last calibration can also
be set in intervals up to 48h or switched off.
The sensitivity setting should be adapted to the
required precision – The advised setting for normal
use is 3 and 24h.
