Calibration
Navigate using the
menu "Calibrate".
Confirm your selection by pressing
the "ENTER"
5.1.1 Calibration with the 45°/0°
BAM-Standard
Depending on which type of probe head has been supplied
the calibration routine will vary.
The BAM-Standard is traceable to the normal of the PTB
(Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) in Braunschweig
and is delivered with a certificate from the BAM (Federal
Institute for Materials Research and Testing).
Verify the selection also using the
"ENTER"
Fit the BAM calibration cap on the
probe head and press the probe
head outer sleeve downwards.
Then press the "ENTER" key and
the calibration routine will be
started.

The device will display a
message when the calibration
was success-ful. Return to
the main menu by pressing
the "ENTER" key.
If not successful, an error
message "Calibration is
invalid" is displayed.
Also the sph xs1 has a
calibration warning function.
This informs the user that a
recalibration is needed. The
sensitivity of this function can
be adjusted in "Settings"
– "System" – "Calibration
warning".
The sensitivity setting should be adapted to the
required precision [see 6.1.8 Calibration warning].
