Changing the battery
WARNING!
Risk of injury from contact with hot parts!
Parts of the appliance may still be very hot after use. These may cause burns if
touched.
Make sure the appliance has cooled down.
The appliance has an electric ignition device powered by a battery (1x type AA,
1.5 volts).
An empty battery must be replaced to ensure the functionality of the
appliance.
The battery compartment is located behind the front drawer, below the gas
regulator.
If the appliance is not used for a long period of time, the battery must be
removed to prevent it leaking.

Unscrew the lid on the battery
compartment.
Remove the used battery.
Insert a new battery.
Make sure that the battery contact
protrudes sufficiently.
Screw the lid of the battery
compartment shut.

Checking the battery contact
The battery contact can be pushed too far in when the appliance is shaken or the
battery is changed. This will prevent the ignition device from working. The battery
contact must be pulled out to perform troubleshooting.
Unscrew the lid on the battery
compartment.
Remove the battery.
Make sure that the battery contact is
pulled out.
If necessary, pull it forward with a
small pair of pliers.
Insert the battery.
Make sure that the battery contact
protrudes sufficiently.
Screw the lid of the battery
compartment shut.
