Safe handling of gas
The liquid gases propane and butane are heavier than air. A build-up of gas can
lead to dangerous situations. The gas supply must be stopped after each use
and if any damage or malfunction arises.
Close the gas regulator.
Stop the gas supply by screwing the gas cylinder closed.
If you can smell gas:
Close the gas regulator.
Remove the burner cover.
Stop the gas supply by screwing the gas cylinder closed.
If you can still detect the smell of gas, the gas cylinder is defective:
Keep your distance from the appliance.
Inform the fire brigade.
Before moving the appliance:
Make sure that the gas supply has been stopped.
Make sure the appliance has cooled down.
Remove the gas cylinder.
Gas cylinders must be stored correctly.
"10.1 Storing gas cylinders" (page 81).
We recommend keeping a suitable fire extinguishing agent near the appliance
(e.g. ABC fire extinguisher).
