3. Set-up
3.1 Safety instructions for set-up
 WARNING!
Danger due to a failure to observe the set-up instructions!
Improper set-up of the appliance can lead to serious injuries. This chapter
contains important information for the safe set-up of the appliance.
Read this chapter carefully before performing the set-up.
Observe the safety instructions.
Carry out the set-up as described.
It is essential to comply with the following requirements in order to avoid
hazards:
 Do not store or deposit flammable materials or liquids on or near the
appliance (e.g. unconnected gas cylinders).
 The appliance must be undamaged and in perfect condition for use.
 Before the appliance can be set up, the set-up location requirements must be
satisfied.
3.2 Set-up location requirements
 The appliance must be set up outdoors. It must not be used in enclosed
spaces.
 The area must be suitable for safe use.
 The surface on which the appliance is set up must be firm, level and
horizontal.
 Do not set up the appliance on a lawn.

Do not set up the appliance in the following locations:
 Enclosed spaces.
 Garages.
 Stairwells.
 Generally accessible hallways and corridors.
 Potentially explosive atmospheres.
 In the immediate vicinity of highly flammable or explosive substances.
 In close proximity to buildings. The specified safety distances must be
observed.
 Under unprotected combustible roofs or heat-sensitive roof overhangs.
 WARNING!
Risk of fire due failure to observe the safety distances!
High temperatures are generated during use of the appliance. Parts of the
appliance become hot, touching these can lead to burns.
Make sure the safety distances to people and objects are maintained at all
times.
Make sure that flammable objects and materials (e.g. furniture, textiles) are
kept a sufficient distance from the appliance.
Necessary safety distances:
 0.3 m distance from heat sensitive non-flammable solid materials.
 1.0 m distance from flammable solid materials.
 5.0 m distance from flammable liquids.
Even seemingly non-flammable materials (such as home insulation under plaster)
can become damaged by heat or fire if the safety distances are not adhered to.
For safe use of the appliance, the following ventilation devices must remain
uncovered:
 All ventilation slots on the appliance.
 Clearances for specified ground clearance.
