15 Installation, electrical connection

• Recommended control cable from RLS 45 K to
star point/distributor (max. 4 m): Type J-
Y(ST)Y 2x2x0.8 mm².
• To connect to the ventilation unit, wire the en-
closed 4-pin connector plug to the control cable
(→ plug sticker and wiring diagram).
• Imbalance may arise if the maximum stated
cable lengths are exceeded. Observe installa-
tion requirements relating to cable lengths and
types. The maximum permissible cable length
can be increased with RLS 45 K slaves or Pp
45 LTs.
• RV 2 ventilation units and RLS 45 Kcontrols are
not suitable for outdoor use. Only use these
outside protection zones 0, 1 and 2 and protect
them from moisture and wetness.
• For RV 2 unit address, see the sticker on the
terminal box cover of the slide-in module (next
to the rating plate).
• Automatic search (Plug & Play): If you have
an even number of RV 2 units, you can use the
Automatic search (Plug & Play) service para-
meter. In the automatic search, the factory-set
unit addresses of the individual ventilation units
are read out. The supply air and exhaust air
units are then automatically paired →
chapter Commissioning, Automatic search (Plug
& Play) [} 34]. Alternatively, addressing and
assignment is also possible with the commis-
sioning software.
• You can also switch on the intensive ventilation
or sleep function manually using additional
switches/buttons. If a switch is installed, the
start delay can be used (time intervals can be
parameterised with CDW commissioning soft-
ware).
• The LED brightness on the RLS 45 K can be
set using the commissioning software. The
LEDs can also be switched off if they are dis-
turbing (bedrooms).
15 Installation, electrical
connection

15.1 Controls, power units

The control centre for the RV 2 ventilation sys-
tem is an RLS 45 K room air control (= master,
230 VAC).
The system can be expanded on the RS 485 bus
with a maximum of 3 additional RLS 45 K slave
controls and up to 3 PP 45 LT power units. The
additional RLS 45 K must be defined as slaves in
28
service mode or with the commissioning software
→ Operating instructions or installation instruc-
tions.
The ventilation units (1 to 8 RV 2, 12 VDC) are
also connected to the RS 485 bus. The connec-
tion is made in the RLS 45 K control at the RS
485 terminals.
Installation recommendations: Install RV 2 con-
trols and PP 45 LT power units in a deep flush-
mounted box. If connecting more than 2 compon-
ents, install them in a double flush-mounted box
or in an additional flush-mounted box.
15.2 Installation of RV 2 slide-in
module
DANGER Risk of electric shock if the 12 V
extra-low voltage and 230 V are not or insuffi-
ciently isolated (serious injury, death).
Ensure a safety distance between 230 V and
12 V (SELV). Ensure minimum distance of 8 mm.
Ensure a phase balance between all components
connected to the ventilation system.
RV 2 connection cable = 4-wire RS 485 bus
cable to the RLS 45 K control (see installation
of the mounting sleeve during the shell con-
struction phase).
A) Wiring the connector plug
1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Cut the connection cable to length and strip
the insulation from the wires. Ensure sufficient
cable length. Do not damage the cable feed to
the mounting sleeve.
3. Remove the 4-pin connector plug from the ter-
minal box.
