4 Specialist installer qualifications
Installation may only be carried out by specialists
who have the necessary knowledge and experi-
ence in ventilation technology.
Electrical connection, commissioning, mainten-
ance and repairs may only be carried out by qual-
ified electricians in accordance with DGUV reg-
ulation 3, Section 2 (3) and in compliance with the
relevant standards (e.g. DIN EN 50110-1) and
technical rules.
Further provisions of other national laws must
be taken into account.
Qualifications and requirements needed for in-
stallation work: Specialist training and knowledge
of compulsory technical standards, EU Directives
and EU Ordinances. The installations must be
carried out professionally. Applicable building reg-
ulations, accident prevention regulations, occupa-
tional health and safety measures (protective
clothing in good repair etc.) must be complied
with. Installation work by trainees is only permit-
ted under the supervision of the above-mentioned
trained specialists.
The persons must be instructed in health and
safety requirements for their area. A school-leav-
ing certificate with good national language skills is
required.
5 Intended use
RV 2 ventilation units with heat recovery are used
for controlled ventilation and air extraction of indi-
vidual rooms with ventilation capacities of up to
42 m³/h.
The ventilation units are suitable for flats, single
and multiple-family dwellings, offices or compar-
able rooms, both for new builds and renovation
work.
The RV 2 ventilation unit is intended exclusively
for domestic use or applications similar to do-
mestic use. Any other or additional use shall be
deemed improper.
6 Permitted operation
Operation of the ventilation unit is permitted:
• in exterior walls with a minimum wall thickness
of 365 mm and a maximum wall thickness of
500 mm with sufficient load-bearing capacity.
• in closed rooms (supply and exhaust air
rooms), space requirement/working space in
front of the unit 0.7 m.
• exactly levelled with a spirit level and aligned
with the exterior wall, horizontal installation po-
sition (parapet variant) or vertical installation
position (soffit variants).
• with permanent electrical installation.
• with correctly installed external grille (drip rail).
• with RLS 45 K comfort control for operating a
maximum of 8 RV 2 units.
• with at least 1 pair of units, operation in pairs
is recommended. A single RV 2 unit can also
be combined with an exhaust air fan in the
bathroom/WC. Exhaust air fans with up to 60
m³/h (ER 60 or ECA 100 ipro) are permitted.
7 Impermissible operation
Operation of the ventilation unit is not permit-
ted in the following situations and environ-
ments, see also safety instructions for Push-
Pull ventilation units:
• with flammable materials, liquids or gases in the
vicinity of the ventilation unit.
• in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• in combination with a lab extraction unit.
• in combination with air-ventilated fireplaces
connected to an exhaust gas system, which it-
self has multiple connections.
• to convey chemicals or aggressive gases/va-
pours.
• with extractor hoods in exhaust air mode.
• during the construction phase.
• to dry out new buildings.
