ilation units = 2 m
Information
• Ventilation units: Install at least 1 RV 2 unit
pair and a maximum of 8 RV 2 units.
• Controls: In addition to the master controller, 3
further controllers (slaves) are permitted on the
RS 485 bus.
• Keep a minimum distance of 2 m between 2
ventilation units if they are in heat recovery
mode, otherwise ventilation short circuit. If
the RV 2 units change to supply air and exhaust
air at the same time, the minimum distance is ir-
relevant.
• Bathroom: The use of RV 2 units in bathrooms
is only permitted outside the protection
zones.
• Kitchens, open-plan kitchens, dining kit-
chens: The use of RV 2 in kitchens is permit-
ted. We only recommend an exhaust air fan
or two RV 2 ventilation units in spatially sep-

arated kitchens. The exhaust air fan (ER, ECA
100 ipro) can be connected to the 230 V inter-
face of the RLS 45 K.

11 Ambient conditions

• Ambient temperature -20 °C to +40 °C.
• Airstream temperature, max. 40 °C.
• Max. permissible humidity in installation room of
90 % (at 20 °C, non-condensing).
• Storage: Only in dry conditions, storage temper-
ature -20 °C to +40 °C. Not in environments
with dust, moisture, sunlight or corrosive sub-
stances. Avoid storage periods that are too
long.

12 Connection conditions

• Max. 3 accessory components per master RLS.
Teaching-in on the master RLS.
• Wiring to plug-in connection terminal.
• Connection cables:
230V: Type NYM-J 5G 1.5 mm²
12 V (RS 485): RLS control to star point/distrib-
utor max. 4 m, type J-Y(ST)Y 2x2x0.8 mm².
Ventilation unit to star point/distributor max. 25
m, type LiYY 4x0.5 mm².
• Parameter settings in the service menu of the
RLS 45 O/K control. With RLS 45 K, alternat-
ively also with the commissioning software.
• Provide suitable mounting material (screws,
dowels) on site.
• Use a deep flush-mounted box (depth 66 or
61mm) or double flush-mounted box for access-
ory components.
• Recommendation for PP 45 LT: If there are
more than 2 ventilation units, install the PP 45
LT in an electronic switch box (simpler electrical
connection).
