15 Installation, electrical connection
DANGER Risk of electric shock if the 12 V
extra-low voltage and 230 V are not or insuffi-
ciently isolated (serious injury, death).
Ensure a safety distance between 230 V and
12 V (SELV). Ensure minimum distance of 8 mm.
Ensure a phase balance between all components
connected to the ventilation system.
DANGER
Risk of electric shock if an RLS 45 K control
is installed within protection zone 0, 1 or 2
and penetrating moisture (serious injury,
death).
No IP protection present (IP 00). The room air
control may only be installed outside protective
zones 0, 1 or 2.
Install the RLS 45 K in a deep flush-moun-
ted box. When wiring several unit pairs/ventil-
ation units, always use a deep/double flush-
mounted box. Strip the connection cables suf-
ficiently.
1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Remove the frame of the RLS 45 K.
3. Cut the power cable and connection cable to
length.
4. Wire the RV 2 ventilation units to the con-
nector plug of the RS 485 bus (bus terminals)
→ Plug sticker and Connection and wiring dia-
grams [} 58].
5. Insert the connector plug into the socket.
6. Insert the RLS 45 K into the flush-mounted
box and screw it in place.

7. Fit the frame. When using a PP 45 HYI
sensor, ensure that the sensor opening is cor-
rectly positioned over the HYI and that the
frame snaps into place.

9. Call up service mode and configure the sys-
tem components.
Use the automatic search function (Plug &
Play) for an even number of RV 2 units. The
ventilation units are automatically configured
as supply air or exhaust air units → following
chapter.
15.4 Installation of PP 45 HYI
humidity sensor
Accessories for PP 45 HYI = internal humidity
sensor
ATTENTION: Unit damage/no function if the
humidity sensor is installed incorrectly. Do
not bend pins. Insert sensor up to stop in
bush.
1. Switch off the mains fuse and secure it against
being switched on again.
2. Carefully remove the frame from the control.
3. Plug the PP 45 HYI humidity sensor into the
I2C interface → arrow.
4. Attach the frame of the control. Ensure that
the sensor opening (hole in the frame) is posi-
tioned over the sensor (ensure correct posi-
tion) and that the frame snaps into place.
5. Start up ventilation system and register humid-
ity sensor in service mode→.Service mode
setting parameters [} 32].

15.5 Connection of external sensors

Approved components and sensors:
PP 45 LT, PP 45 EO, PP 45 HYI, PP 45 HY,
PP 45 CO2 and PP 45 VOC.
