5.9 Sealing
5.9.1 Sealing air
The motor spindle is protected by a labyrinth and sealing air against the ingress of foreign bodies such as chips and liquids.
The IP protection class of your spindle can only be achieved with connected sealing air and the required flow rate.

5.9.2 Air-free sealing
The motor spindle is protected by a special labyrinth against the ingress of foreign bodies such as chips and liquid, without the need
for sealing air. The seal protects the motor spindle at standstill and under rotation.

ATTENTION! For wet milling some design rules must be obtained. Please ask your SycoTec contact person for "DESIGN
GUIDE AIR-FREE SEALING" document to ensure proper operation.
Limitations
Front area is protected against liquid and dust.
Please also observe the following flow chart: Switch-on cooling liquid after spindle is rotating and switch-off cooling liquid before
spindle comes to a standstill.
