28. The unit must be periodically inspected by a
Tractel-approved repair agent as indicated
in this manual.

29. A servicing handbook must be maintained
in accordance with the example given at the
end of this manual.
30. When the unit is not being used, it should be
stored in a location inaccessible to persons
not authorised to use the unit.
31. In the event of definitive removal from
service of the unit, dispose of the appliance
in conditions in which it cannot be used. All
environment protection regulations applicable
in the country of use must be observed.
32. The hoist shall be installed and operated
only in locations that will allow the operator
to be clear of the load at all times.
33. The hoist should be installed in locations
where the length of the load chain will allow
the load hook to rest on the floor or the
lowest level on which the load rests.
NB:
For
professional
particular if the unit is to be operated by
an employee, make sure that you are in
compliance with all safety at work regulations
governing installation, maintenance and
use of the equipment, and more specifically
as
concerns
inspection
on
the user, periodic inspections following
disassembly or repair.
1. Definitions
In this manual, the following terms are used:
"Operator": Person or department responsible
for the use of the product as intended.
"Installer": Person or department responsible
for assembling the components of the product
received, installing it so that it is ready for use,
dismantling it, uninstalling it and transporting it
for storage and storing it.
"Technician": Qualified person who is familiar
with this unit and responsible for the maintenance
operations described in the instruction manual.
"After-sales service": Company or department
authorised by a company in the Tractel group

required

first
commissioning
to provide the after-sales service or carry out
product repairs.
2. Description of the hoists
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists are
devices designed for lifting and lowering a load
suspended on a chain (load chain) by manually
actuating a second chain (hand chain); they are
also used to maintain a load suspended.
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists are
secured to a fixed anchor point or to a moving
trolley. Information about suspension trolleys
can be obtained from TRACTEL on request.
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists are
robust devices manufactured from high-quality
materials. They have a compact design, are
lightweight, portable and easy to install.
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists are
equipped with a load chain (item 1, fig. 1) and
a hand chain (item 7, fig. 1) compatible for a
in
standard lifting height of 3 m.
The load chain and lifting hook on Tralift hoists
are made of alloy steel with surface protection,
while those on Tralift Duratech hoists are made
of stainless steel.

The load chain is formed by one or several
strands (see §3, "Technical specifications"),
equipped with a lifting hook on its load-end side
(item 2, fig. 1); on the other end (slack strand
side), the load chain is secured to a low limit stop
(item 4, fig. 1) itself secured to the hoist.
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists comply
with the requirements of the European directive
2006/42/CE and The Supply of Machinery
(Safety) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/1597) of the
United Kingdom and are designed to ensure a
minimum mechanical strength of 4 x WLL*.
The Tralift and Tralift Duratech hoists are
designed and built to withstand dynamic testing
at 1.1 x WLL* and static testing at 1.5 x WLL*.
Description of a standard delivery: the hoist
is supplied in a cardboard package equipped
with its hand and load chains, and comes with its
user manual, CE compliance certificate and
UKCA certificate.
