4.4.4 Procedure
► Connect line for supply pressure (1.4...7 bar) to pressure connection P.
For single-acting actuators (control function FC and FO):
► Connect a working connection (A1 or A2, depending on the desired safety end position) to the chamber of the single-acting ac-
tuator.
► Connect working connection (A1 or A2) to single-acting actuator.
► Close the working connection that is not required with a sealing plug (V).
For double-acting actuators (control function DA):
► Connect working connections A1 and A2 to the respective chambers of the double-acting actuator.
Exhaust air concept
► To comply with protection rating IP67, an exhaust duct must be assembled in the dry area.
► The control pressure applied must be at least 0.5 - 1 bar higher than the pressure required for the end position of the pneuma-
tic actuator.
► This prevents an excessively small pressure difference from negatively influencing the control behavior in the upper stroke
range.
► Keep the fluctuations of the control pressure as low as possible during operation (max. ±10%). In case of larger fluctuations, the
controller parameters calibrated with the X.TUNE function are not optimal.
CAUTION!
Incorrect control pressure!
Too high or too low control pressure can impair the function or cause property damage or leakage.
► The control pressure must be within the specified pressure range.
► Observe specifications for compressed air quality (see quality class control medium).
DANGER!
Risk of injury due to high pressure in the system/device.
► Before working on the system or device, switch off the pressure and vent/drain the lines.
NOTE!
For proper operation of the device, observe the following:
► The installation must not cause back pressure to build up.
► Select a hose with a sufficient cross-section for the connection.
► Design the exhaust air line so that no water or other liquid can enter the device through the exhaust air connection.
