The indicator light around the button will go off.
●
Take the obturator carefully out of the holder by pulling it towards you, making sure
not to scrape the obturator on any part of the holder.
●
The oven will "beep" every 15 seconds to remind you that the obturator is still in the
oven. After 90 seconds, the oven will switch off automatically.
9) Carefully extract the obturator from the oven and insert it immediately into the root canal
with a slow, firm, and continuous movement in the apical direction.
10) Ensure that the movement is always in the direction of the carrier to prevent it from
bending.

On the insertion, the gutta-percha apically precedes the carrier, thus blocking the root
canal towards the apex whilst filling all the lateral root canals in a single insertion.
11) The pressure should be maintained a few seconds after the apex has been reached.
●
If several root canals have to be filled, use the left and right supports alternately in
order to save time.
12) Take a radiograph to confirm that the root canal is filled up to working length.
●
While stabilizing the Obturator with your index finger, remove the shaft and handle at
the orifice with a Therma-Cut® bur with a turbine without spray, or use a sharp spoon
excavator.
13) Using an endodontic excavator, remove the surplus gutta-percha which could block
access to the other root canals.
●
It is very important at this stage to use a plugger to condense the softened gutta in the
coronal part around the carrier.
14) Repeat all the steps detailed above for all the root canals of a pluri-radicular tooth.
●
When filling several root canals of a molar, always start with the root canal having the
most difficult access.
15) Dispose of obturators in an appropriate biohazard container.
12 HYGIENE, DISINFECTION, CLEANING, AND STERILIZATION
●
Obturators are intended for Single use only.
●
Obturators are non sterilizable device, please follow the below instructions for Disinfection:
○
Immerse the obturators in 5.25% NaOCl for 1 to 5 minutes at ambient temperature.
○
Remove all the bubbles from the surface of the obturators.
○
Gently wipe the Thermafil® with sterile gauze moistened with 70% isopropyl alcohol.
○
Let the obturators air dry.
○
Do not use disinfecting solutions containing Phenol or any products which are not
compatible with gutta-percha.
