9.4.1 LINKING STEPS - CENTRAL LINKING SYSTEM KLAXON®
Throughout the linking phase, make sure to be on a flat area, as free as possible of
unevenness in the terrain and away from dangers to the safety of the person and of others.
Be careful not to squeeze or entrap your fingers during the linking operations. Potential
finger traps and squeezing points are shown in chapter 21.
Insert the crossbeam (Figure 30 Letter D) in one of the two clamping ring (Figure 30 Letter C) and secure
it by inserting the specific locking pin (Figure 30 Letter B). (Figure 31).
Insert the crossbeam also in the second clamping ring and secure it by inserting the specific locking pin
(Figure 32).
Note: The crossbeam can always remain installed on the wheelchair; if necessary (for loading and unloading
from vehicles and closing the foldable wheelchair) it can be removed and placed in a safe place.
Insert the connector (Figure 30 Letter D) in the square seat (Figure 30 Letter H) of the crossbeam (Figure
30 Letter A), pressing the lever (Figure 30 Letter F) located on its bottom. Once inserted, release the lever
and make sure that the connector is securely locked (Figure 33).
Once the crossbeam is inserted, the Linking System will appear as in Figures 34 and 35.
In order to proceed with the TWIST connection please follow the instruction from chapter 10.
