7.8. Friction brake: Adjusting the braking force/replacing the brake disc
Note
The following figure is an example of a type VCS0 joystick with friction brake. The joystick
type VCS0 is available in different variants, with one or two cam disks.
Figure 17.
Joystick VCS0 – Friction brake: Adjusting the braking force/replacing the brake disc
If the braking force decreases, the friction brake can be adjusted via the screw (24). If the braking force
can no longer be adjusted via the screw (24), the brake disk (23) must be replaced.
Note
Spohn + Burkhardt recommends a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm for the screw (24).
Preparatory work
1. Disconnect the system from the supply of electrical power.
2. Open the installation space.
3. Remove the joystick VCS0 as per chapter 9. "Removal", page 79.
Adjusting the brake force/
1. Tighten the screw (24) with a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm. If the brake force cannot be adjusted via
the screw (24), replace the brake disk (23) (see section "Replacing the brake disk", page 78).
2. Install the joystick VCS0 as per chapter 5. "Installation", page 63.
3. Undertake setup (see chapter 6. "Setup", page 70).
