In the third and last step, the network server and the gateway
exchange keys in order to facilitate encrypted communication.
For more specific information about the registration of gateways,
please refer to the technical manual of the respective gateway, as
well as the documentation provided by the LoRa network server
operator. Several manufacturers (e.g. TTN) offer preconfigured
gateways which simplify the configuration process.
8 Maintenance
Dräger recommends carrying out the following tasks every 6 months:
– Test the signal chain by applying target gas to the sensor
– Sensor maintenance (e.g. replacement of the selective filter)
– Sensor calibration (see "Calibration", page 68)
– Observe the nationally applicable regulations regarding
maintenance (e.g. EN 60079-29-2, EN 45544-4, T021/T023)

Replacing the sensor

The sensor can be replaced without any interruption to the supply
voltage. Sensors can generally be replaced at any time.
When replacing sensors, all configuration settings, including the
configuration of the LoRa connection parameters of the X-node and
the sensor calibration, remain unchanged despite the restart. The
data from the new sensor is automatically communicated to the app
and the LoRa network. This can take up to 6 hours.
Configuration of the X-node for the new sensor is not required. The
required data is taken from the sensor. The last calibration is applied,
however the previously idle sensor will need to warm up again.
The alarm thresholds are only applied if the new sensor has the same
part number as the previous one. Otherwise, the sensor-specific
factory settings will be applied for the alarm thresholds.

If the inserted sensor is not supported (see "Compatible sensors",
page 45), the status LED of the X-node flashes blue.

– Loosen the bayonet ring (Fig. 2/5).
– Remove the old sensor.
– Insert the new sensor (Fig. 2/4) into the opening.
– Secure the sensor with the bayonet ring (Fig. 2/5).
