If an X-node is connected to a USB cable for the charging process,
the position alarms will be suppressed.
Battery runtime and charging time
The default battery runtime when fully charged and in continuous
operation is approx. 12 months.
The following table lists battery runtimes for X-nodes in continuous
operation with various sensors, which are calculated on the basis of
measurements. The factory settings have not been changed for any
measurement, which means the status LED flashes every 60 seconds
and the LoRa transmission interval is 300 s. The X-node uses
firmware 2.0.7 and the LoRa reception is of average quality. All
measurements have been carried out at 20 °C, 50 % relative humidity
and in atmospheric conditions.

Depending on configuration, installation location, sensor used and
external circumstances, the runtime may exceed or fall below what is
expected. In particular, the distance to the LoRa gateway is important
as, depending on error rate, the emissions with stronger transmission
power and longer duration are also repeated when the distance is
longer. The X-node itself does not influence this behaviour as these
parameters are set by the controlling LoRa network server in the

varies. Other external circumstances that influence the battery
runtime include the concentration of measured gas in the air and the
number of alarms triggered.
Favourable configurable factors for an increased battery runtime
include:
– Long display interval
– Setting the discreet mode (no LED signals)
– Long LoRa transmission interval
– "Flashing" display pattern instead of "pulsing"
– Infrequent Bluetooth connections
