6.7. Preservation of engine and equipment

For longer periods out of operation (winter time), make sure that the engine will be properly
preserved.
Warning: Not following this will lead to engine damage ( e.g. breakage of cylinder).

Remove drain screw on float chamber of carburetor and collect the fuel in a suitable
container.
Clean drain screw and refit.
See also safety instructions, section 4.1
Detach carburetor, drain fuel from carburetor and close carburetor openings to
ensure that no dust or dirt can enter.
If the vehicle gets stored at temperatures below the freezing temperature the cooling
system must be filled with a mixture of distilled water and an aluminium-compatible
antifreeze.
The mixture must ensure protection against freezing to a temperature of
– 20 °C / -4 ° F. Or drain the entire cooling system and clean the cooling circuit with
pressure air.
Close intake and exhaust port of engine so that they are air-tight with adhesive tape.
Apply oil on exhaust system to prevent corrosion.
Remove battery from the fixture and charge periodically with the specified battery
charger.
