8. Installation of the battery

For a well balanced weight distribution it is recommended to locate the battery either on an already
designated support plate on the chassis behind the driver's seat or on the left side box beside the
driver's seat. For proper attachment a fixture kit for the battery, (see figure 8, pos. 22) will be
supplied with the engine by Rotax. For installation of the battery, proceed as follows:

Attention: Do not over tighten the screw (20) of the pipe clamps (18). Risk of clamp fracture.
Warning: Make absolutely sure to avoid short-circuiting of battery terminals. A short

Attach start button furnished with rubber cap by hex. nut on front shield.
Attach ON/OFF switch on the front shield with the 2 nuts supplied.
Hand-tighten the attachment nut of starter button and ON/OFF switch.
Attach the battery fixture (22) with the two pipe clamps (18 – 21) on a suitable
location on the chassis.
The clamp (18) size is planned for chassis tubes of 32 mm (1,26 in) dia. On tubes of
smaller dia. Compensate with layers of emery paper.
Put the rubber plate (23) inside the battery fixture.
Put the battery into the fixture (22) for connecting the battery refer to section 19.

Establish connections in accordance with figure 8.
Connect the two cables of 6 mm

Polarity of the cable for start button and ON/OFF switch doesn't matter.
Attach the ignition coil with the support components supplied on gear cover as per
fig. 8.
On the top attachment screw of the ignition coil connect also the additional
grounding cable (8)

vibration rigid parts of the frame (e.g. seat strut).
Connect the wiring harness on the trigger coil (1).
