OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PM 5330
3.5.9
Store/Recall of Instrument Settings
75 complete instrument settings can be stored into storage registers 00 - 74. The actual
operating mode is automatically stored separately. The settings are not lost when the instru-
ment is switched off.
When the instrument is switched on again, it will run through its selftest routine and then return
to that operating mode it was set to before switching off.
Store
Storage is done by pressing the key STORE followed by two digits for the required memory
place. Previous settings in that place are written over and thus are lost.
Recall
Stored settings are recalled by pressing the key RECALL followed by two digits. The data of
this register are now displayed but not executed, ENTER appears in the display. This way it is
possible to look at the contents of various registers in any order; e.g. in case there has been a
mistake. The values shown are not executed until the key ENTER has been pressed.
3.5.10
Error Messages, Operating Errors
When switched on, the instrument automatically checks the program and working memories
as well as the EEPROMs (memories) for the calibration values and for the last setting.
During operation the instrument checks the IzC bus connections to the individual functional
areas, the locking of the phase loops and the values of the level correction.
During input the instrument checks the settings for their validity and range limits.
3.5.10.1 Error Messages during Power On
Errors detected by the instrument when it is switched on are shown in the frequency field by
the letters "Err" followed by two digits. The display can be cancelled by pressing any other key
except LOCAL.
The messages mean as follows:
Err 90
Err 91
Err 92
Err 93
Err 94
RAM error
ROM error
EEPROM checksum error
calibration memory checksum error
back-up memory checksum error (memory of actual setting)
If one of these error messages appears, please contact a Philips Service Workshop.
If error message 94 appears, then the instrument may still be used, but new data can no
longer be transferred to the memory.
