OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
PM 5330
Depending on the mode selected, the menu bar which is somewhat changed then appears.
Here an internal or external modulation must be selected using the MODULATION keys. This
selection must also be acknowledged with ENTER.
If internal modulation is selected, the modulation parameters can then be modified within the
preset framework by means of the MOD PARAMETER keys.
Example:
External amplitude modulation (AM)
When amplitude modulation (AM) has been selected using the MODULATION and ENTER keys,
you can then switch to AM EXT by means of the same key sequence. If the SPECIAL key is
pressed instead of ENTER, additional modulations can be selected.

Modulation Parameters
The input of the modulation parameters depends on the mode selected. It is started by
the ~ ►MOD PARAMETER keys. The values are entered using the numerical keys or the
'+O' '-O' step keys. The input must be concluded with ENTER.
The internal parameters can be changed in the case of combined modulations where one of
them is external. If both modulations are internal , only the parameters of the first modulation
can be changed. The second modulation always works with the same modulation frequency
as the first one. The modulation depth (m) corresponds to the value of the FM deviation and
vice-versa. In the case of limitations caused by other parameters, the next common value is
always switched back to.
Function:
When the MOD PARAMETER keys are pressed, the '►' symbol jumps to the left or right-hand
display of the modulation parameters, and the previously set parameters are displayed at the
same time. Pressing the MOD PARAMETER keys again changes from the left to the right-hand
side of the display or vice-versa; this is indicated by the '►' symbol.
Example:
set modulation mode, internal AM
When the MOD PARAMETER keys are pressed,
the previously set parameters are displayed, for example:
~ MOD
1_ x ,1 1 kHz
m ~~ ~ 1. j 1
When the first digit is entered, the display is cleared and the digit is displayed at the right-hand
of the display. To point out that the display does not match the output signal, ENTER appears
in the display. Further digits are entered in the display from the right. The value is sent to the
memory and set immediately with ENTER.
If a value is entered which is not within the permitted range, the display flashes. The display
cannot be exited as long as the digits flash. Either a correct value must be entered then or the
previously set value must be displayed again by means of the parameter key.
