Similar to RDS, ARI modulation can operate individually as a modulation or together with RDS
or can be combined additionally with FM, FM-Stereo or AM.
The ARI-Germany system is set with SPECIAL 75 and ARI-USA with SPECIAL 76. If the ARI-
USA system was set, a period appears in addition on the display behind the text 'ARI'.

For ARI-Germany, the area identification code BK can be selected from A to F, for ARI-USA
the zone from 1 to 10. The selection is made by the MOD PARAMETER keys when ARI or
RDS/ARI are activated.
When reselected, an 'underline' appears here. The setting is entered using the numerical
keys and can be changed with the '+O' '-~' step keys. For the German ARI system, a ' 1 '
must be entered for 'A' , a '2' for 'B', etc. The setting must be concluded with ENTER.
The traffic announcement code, DK or ME as the case may be, is selected by SPECIALS.
Different RDS and ARI parameters are set by SPECIAL functions 40 to 76.
SPECIAL 40 reset to initial settings for RDS/ARI:
RDS deviation 1.25 kHz, RDS phase 90°, ARI DK off
SPECIAL 41 RDS/ARI phase: 0°
SPECIAL 42 RDS/ARI phase: 80°
