3.5.7.1
Modulation Modes
The modulation modes are selected at the menu level.
At the first level, the mode desired is selected from the available modulations. However,
STEREO and RDS can only be selected if the units are equipped accordingly. After pressing
the ENTER key, decide in the second level whether modulation is to be internal or external
(except for SWEEP and RDS) .This level must also be concluded with ENTER. Then the modu-
lation parameters can be set or modified.
Most of the modulation parameters set at an earlier stage in the unit can be adopted if a new
setting is required.
In the SWEEP and RDS modes, modulation cannot be external.
If combined modulation modes are to be generated, the second input level must not be con-
cluded with ENTER, but SPECIAL must be used to call up further menus, by means of which
two or three modulation modes can be selected. An overview of all modulation modes and
their possible combinations is displayed on the following table.
If all modulation modes are to be deactivated, then the modulation keys in the first input level
must be pressed until all characters stop flashing. Then acknowledge with ENTER.
A modulation mode which is already set can be interrupted at any time with the OFF/ON key
(to the right of the modulation keys) . The text OFF appears then at the bottom right-hand
corner of the display. The advantage of this mode compared to deactivating the modulation
mode is that all modulation parameters are available again when the OFF/ON key is pressed
again. If another modulation mode or parameter is selected when the modulation is inter-
rupted (OFF/ON key) , the modulation remains deactivated.
Function:
When the MODULATION keys are pressed, the "►" symbol jumps before the modulation
modes in the display. The five standard modulation modes available Sweep, AM, FM, FM-
