3.5.8 Frequency Counter Function
The instrument can operate as a frequency counter by pressing the key COUNT. The text
COUNTER appears in the display.
frequency range: 10 Hz - 199.999 MHz
input level: 15 mV - 5 V (rms)
impedance: 50
S2 / 1 MSZ
The measuring range is selected automatically when a signal is applied to the BNC socket
COUNTER IN.
resolution: f < 750 kHz
f < 750 kHz - 25 MHz
f > 25 MHz
10 Hz
100 Hz
1 kHz
The measured frequency is shown in the frequency field. The flashing symbol
'O' shows that
the counter is active when a signal is fed in. If the display shows '---' , the upper frequency
range has been exceeded.
The input impedance of the frequency counter can be set to 1 MS2 using the keys SPECIAL 20,
and to 50 S2 with the keys SPECIAL 21 . The selected impedance is indicated on the display.
Press the key COUNT to leave the frequency counter function.
