Test Instruction , Trouble Shooting
2.5 Motor test
Detach the plugs 3/4 at the charging unit (3); insert the ammeter between these points and press any
function control button until the final position is reached.
The unit must draw between 6.5 and 9 Amperes of power.
If more than 9 A is drawn, then either the motor (7) or the pump (8) is defective.
Remove the motor and measure the power drawn by the disassembled motor.
When operating with no load :
Replace the motor if this is not the case. If the motor proves to be OK, then replace the pump. Check the
power value again ( < 9A ) after installing the new pump.
Note:Using the operating table over an extended period of time with the motor drawing an excessively hight
amount of power (> 9A) can damage the battery charger (3) and, in rare cases, even the control unit.
From 03.95, all operating tables and systems have been delivered with a factory-adjusted system
pressure of 100 bar.
On older operating tables , the pressure should be set to 100 bar when carrying out maintenance or
repair work -> lower current consumption (6.5A-7.5A), less wear.
Exception: 1140.01 mobile column -> 130 bar.
2.6 Protective motor switch
In models manufactured from mid 1993, a protective motor switch, order number 0 970 145 3, has been
introduced. This device avoids overheating of the motor (7) when interrupting the current supply. After
cooling down, the current circuit is closed again.
This protective motor switch (PTC) (11) can be retrofitted in all models and variants (also 1130.01).
Testing the disconnected protective motor switch (PTC):
At a temperature of 20°C, the resistance between the leads (12) must be between 55 and 100 mΩ.

the max. admissible value is 0.6 A.
