IV. Maintenance and Storage

Keep all nuts, bolts,and.screws .t_...tto be sure the
equspment is in sine workingconomon.
•
Neverstorethe equipmentwithpetrolinthe tank inside
a buildingwhere fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
•
Allowthe engine to cool before stodngin any enclo-
sure.
•
To reduce the fire hazard, keep the engine, silencer,
battery compartmentand patrol storage area free of
grass, leaves, or excessivegrease.
•
Check the grasscatcherfrequently for wear or detario-
ration.
•
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
•
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this should be done
outdoors.
On multi-bladedmachines, take care as rotatingone
blade can cause other bladesto rotate.
When machine is to be parked, stored or left unat-
tended, lower the cutting means unless a positive
mechanical lock is used.
CAUTION: Always disconnect sparkplug wire and
place wire where It cannot contact spark plug in
order to prevent accidental starting when setting
up, trensportlng, adjusting or rnakingrepalre.
