1.4 Important information
Before commissioning, connecting and using
Bosch products, it is essential to go through the
operating instructions/manual – and the safety in-
structions, in particular – with great care. By do-
ing so you can eradicate any uncertainties in han-
dling Bosch test products and thus associated
safety risks upfront; something which is in the in-
terests of your own safety and will ultimately help
avoid damage to the device. Whoever passes a
Bosch product onto another person must hand
over, in addition to the operating instructions, the
safety instructions and information on the inten-
ded use to this person as well.

1.5 Warranty

No modifications may be carried out on our prod-
ucts. Our products may only be used with genu-
ine accessories and genuine spare parts. Other-
wise, all warranty claims will be rendered null
and void.

1.7 Safety information

from working with test oil. Death or se-
vere bodily injuries.
 Do not smoke.
 No open flames or sources of sparks.
 Keep a suitable fire extinguisher in the
immediate vicinity.
Danger of fire from test oil leaking onto
hot engine surfaces. Death or severe
bodily injuries.
 Allow the engine to cool for at least 40
minutes before measuring the injector
return quantity.
 Ensure that the correct hose assemblies
are being used for the corresponding in-
jectors.
 Securely position the injector return
quantity meter to prevent it from falling
over.

2. Product description
2.1 Intended use
The injector return quantity meter, called
0 986 612 950 in the following, is used to identify
defective injectors for common rail systems while
the injector is installed.
2.2 Prerequisites
• Starter OK
• Engine mechanically OK
• Fuel level at least 10 l
• Standard diesel fuel

2.4 Special accessories
With some injectors, the plug connectors of the
0 986 612 950 cannot be attached to the return.
Adapter hose assemblies are needed for connec-
tion. The adapter hose assemblies are available
as an optional accessory for the 0 986 612 950.
