Correct use

The T4000 Direct series coded electronic safety switches
are only allowed to be used in the context of section 2.2
„Applications of the safety switches". The safety switches
are only allowed to be installed by qualified safety person-
nel and are only allowed to be used on the machine on
which they have been installed and initialised by qualified
safety personnel as per these operating instructions.
All warranty claims against SICK AG are forfeited in the
case of any other use, or alterations being made to
devices, even as part of their mounting or installation.
2.4 General safety notes and protective
measures
Safety switches provide personnel safety functions.
Incorrect installation or manipulation can result in serious
injuries.
Safety switches must not be bypassed, turned away,
removed or rendered ineffective in any other way.
Liability is excluded in case of:
 incorrect use,
 failure to comply with the safety notes,
 installation and electrical connection by unauthorised
personnel,
 unauthorised modifications.
The user is responsible for the safe integration of the
device in a safe complete system. The complete system
must therefore be validated, e.g. per EN ISO 13849-2.
