Instrument setup
This operation allows to set the parameters in order to use the instrument
on motorcycles having different characteristics (SM-TE).
1- With instrument OFF, push the MODE knob (1, figure 1) and maintain it
pushed;
2- turn the ignition key on IGNITION position; after approx. 7" WS appears
on the display, R.H. lower side (figure 2);
3- maintaining the MODE knob pushed, push and release the "passing"
control 5 times;
4- releasing the MODE knob the code "0001" appears, which is related to
the SM model (see figure 3);
5- briefly pushing the MODE knob the code "0002" appears, which is
related to the TE model and then "cu" (see figure 4);
6- after the identification of the select code ("0001" for SM and "0002" for
TE), push the MODE knob until WS appears; now releasing the MODE knob
"Ln" appears, showing the first of the 5 pre-selected values, which cannot
be changed, indicated on figures 5 to 9;
7- briefly push the MODE knob in order to see the pre-selected values:
Ln= wheel rolling circumference (mm),
di= wheel diameter (mm),
SPEED= number of pulses per wheel revolutions,
rpm= number of pulses per engine revolutions,
max= runaway speed rate limit;
8- briefly push the MODE knob in order to visualize "km/h- mph" modes
shown on figure 10, then push the MODE knob until the horizontal LED indi-
cators appear. By releasing the MODE knob only a flashing measurement
unit will appear; this is the measurement unit that will be active at that time
(i.e. km/h: briefly pushing the MODE knob "km/h" will be replaced with
"mph"). In order to confirm the selected measurement unit, push the
MODE knob until "WS" appears.
9- briefly push the MODE knob in order to see the selecting mode
"remaining hours before the engine oil replacement" see figure 11 (first re-
placement after 13 hours); push the MODE knob until the horizontal LED
indicators appear. By releasing the MODE knob, instead of the horizontal
LED indicators, "0000" will appear or the previously selected value, with
the flashing first L.H. number. Briefly pushing the MODE knob, the
number advances by a unit, leaving inactive the MODE knob for 2
seconds the 2nd number on the L.H. side will oscillate. After having
inserted the value, wait for 2" until the number disappears. If the operation
is repeated, the selected number can be modified. If a value of 000 is
planned, the icon will be deactivated;
10- briefly push the MODE knob in order to see the selecting mode
"remaining hours or km before the coupon" (see figure 12), push the MODE
knob until the horizontal LED indicators appear; upon release figure 13
appears, briefly pushing the MODE knob makes km/h and CLK appear al-
ternatively. In order to confirm the selected measurement unit, push the
MODE knob and maintain it pushed until shortly after WS appears on the
display, R.H. lower side; upon release of the MODE knob insert and save
the value using the same method shown at point 9. If a value of 000 is
planned, the icon will be deactivated. After this operation, figure 12 will
appear. Briefly push the MODE knob making the text End appear.
