BASIC SETTINGS
Manual log calibration (man.Cal)
This function is used as an alternative to the automatic calibration. The
calibration factor is determined with a pocket calculator. This function
can also be used to check the calibration factor calculated by the instru-
ment during automatic calibration.
Mark two characteristic points on the map. The distance defined bet-
ween these points is the measuring distance. The LOGIC log measures
the distance covered between the two points.
In flowing water the mesuring run must be made in both directions to
compensate the flow velocity effect.
Select the adequate speed unit (knots or km/h) for the area before star-
ting the run. Make the run with a speed as constant as possible at crui-
sing speed.
Measuring distance:
The following example refers to a measuring run in non-flowing water,
the measuring distance being 2.00 km.
