• This equipment has been manufactured and tested according to part 1 of the Ger-
man standard DIN 57 411/VDE 0411 part 1 "Protective measures for electronic
measuring devices" and IEC 1010-1. It left the factory in a technically reliable
condition. To preserve this condition and to ensure safe operation, the user has
too heed the ("Attention" and "Note") safety instructions and warning notes
which are contained in this operating manual. The following symbols must be
observed:
=
Attention! Dangerous voltages if touched! Danger to life!
=
Read the operating manual
CAT II
= over-voltage category II
CAT III
= excess current category III
=
safety class II (double-insulated)
• Current measurements must only be carried out in circuits which are protected
with 10 A fuses or where voltages not exceeding 600 V (DC)/ V(AC) rms can occur.
The measuring device must not be used in installations of category III excess vol-
tage, according to IEC 664. The measuring device and the measuring leads are
not protected against arc explosions.
• Measuring devices and accessories are not toys and must therefore be kept out of
reach of children!
• In industrial facilities, the safety regulations laid down by the professional trade
association for electrical equipment and facilities must be adhered to.
• The handling of power supplies in schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help
workshops must be supervised by trained personnel.
• During the opening of covers or the removing of parts - except when this is
manually possible – live parts can be exposed. Connecting points can also be live.

Before doing any trimming, maintenance, overhauling or exchanging of compo-
nents or component groups, the device must be separated from all voltage sour-
ces and voltage circuits, if it is necessary to open the equipment. If it is subse-
quently unavoidable to do trimming, maintenance or repair on the opened equip-
ment, then this work must only be done by an expert technician who is familiar
with the associated dangers and the relevant regulations (VDE-0100, VDE-0701,
VDE-0683).
• Condensers inside of the device can still be live, even if the device has been sepa-
rated from all voltage sources and voltage circuits.
• Make sure that only fuses of the specified type and the specified nominal power
are used for replacement. The use of rapid-acting fuses or the bridging the fuse
