3 seconds.

RESETTING TO FACTORY SETTINGS

When making your individual changes to the pre-programmed settings of the
"Custom" program, the appliance will keep your settings in memory—even after shut
off and disconnecting the appliance from the mains power supply. However, you
may wish to restore the pre-programmed factory settings. For this, proceed according
to the following steps.
1. Cancel any running program, by holding the "Start/Stop" button pressed for 3
seconds. The appliance will be in standby mode then.
2. Simultaneously hold the buttons "°C/Time" and "Tea" pressed for 5 seconds. The
appliance will beep for 3 seconds, and all indicators on the top and bottom line
of the display will be illuminated. Thereafter, the factory settings will be restored.

The Solution
Simply press any button or remove the kettle from
the power base shortly to reactivate the display.
Select another program.
Cancel any running program (hold "Start/Stop"
pressed for 3 seconds). Then try again.
Unplug the appliance and leave the appliance cool
down to room temperature. Then try again.
