9.1. Switching the tool on/off and setting the
speed
Ensure that you have stable footing and hold the tool firmly

with both hands on the handles and at a distance from your
body. Make sure that you can move the tool freely after
switching it on and do not touch any objects.
Switching the tool on/setting the speed
1) Press the On/Off switch (14) to activate the tool. The
charge level indicator (16) lights up. The rotational speed
setting (17) 1 or 2 lights up on the motor unit (1).
Select the desired speed by pressing the speed
2)
button (15). The selected speed setting lights
up.
3) Press and hold the safety lock-out (4) and then operate the
start lever (3).
The tool starts to operate at the preset speed.
4) Release the safety lock-out again.
Note
It is not possible to operate the tool continuously. You must

keep the start lever (3) pressed.
CAUTION!
After switching off, the cutting tool continues to rotate for a
►
few seconds. Wait until the cutting tool has come to a com-
plete standstill. Keep hands and feet away from the cutting
tool!
There is a risk of personal injury.
Switching the tool off
If you no longer wish to use the tool, switch it off completely
♦
by pressing and holding the On/Off switch (14) until the
charge level indicator (16) is no longer illuminated.
Remove the batteries.

10.1. Checking the battery charge level on the
tool
The LEDs of the charge level indicator (16) show the
♦
battery charge status when the batteries (50) are
inserted into the motor unit (1).
When the tool is activated using the On/Off switch (14),
♦
the LEDs may light up as follows:
3 LEDs light up (red, orange, green):
–
Battery charged
2 LEDs light up (red and orange):
–
Battery partially charged
1 LED lights up (red):
–
Battery must be charged
Charge the battery when only the red LED lights up.

10.2. Using the tool
WARNING!
Risk of injury! Work safely and carefully!

Pay attention to the country-specific or municipal regula-

tions when cutting.
Do not strim or cut during normal quiet hours.
♦
Solid objects such as stones, metal parts etc. must be
♦
removed. These can be flung away and cause personal
injury or damage to property.
When cutting in high bushes or hedges, maintain a working
♦
height of at least 15 cm. This means that animals such
as hedgehogs are not placed in danger.
Always hold the tool firmly and securely with both hands!

Only cut grass and weeds! Watch out for roots or tree
♦
stumps, as there is a risk of tripping.
Work carefully and do not endanger anyone when cutting.
♦
Only work when visibility and light conditions are adequate!
♦
Keep an eye on the cutting head!
♦
Never cut above shoulder height!
♦
Never replace the plastic cord with a steel wire – risk of
♦
injury and destruction!
Do not work on a ladder!
♦
Only work on firm and stable surfaces!
♦
Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all
♦
times.
