8. Putting on the harness
WARNING!
Never use the tool without the carrying harness (52). Al-
ways switch off the tool before removing the carrying har-
ness.
Never use several strap holders or several shoulder straps at
the same time.

1) Position the carrying harness (52) so that the shoulder
plate (51) is on your back.
2) Close the carrying harness (see Fig. K) and adjust it to
the body circumference as shown in Fig. L.
3) Tighten the shoulder straps by pulling them downwards
(see Fig. M and N). The strap length is optimally adjusted
when the snap hook is approx. 10 cm below the hips.
4) Attach the snap hook to the carrying lug (5) on the upper
shaft tube (8).
5) Place the body protection plate on the hip between the
body and the tool.
Note
Make sure that no other part interferes with the release or
removal of the carrying harness (52).
The carrying harness comes with a
quick-release mechanism (53) to
quickly detach the tool from the
carrying harness in a dangerous
situation. In a dangerous situa-
tion, press both sides of the
quick-release mechanism to re-
8.1. Balancing the tool
For using the various attachments, select the corresponding
position of the carrying lug (5) for the carrying har-
ness (52).
The tool attached to the carrying lug should, without you
holding it with your hands, be positioned...
... with the strimmer (23) resting lightly on the ground;
... with the 3-tooth blade (20) balanced about 20 cm
above the ground.
... with the pole pruner attachment (54) or the hedge
trimmer attachment (72) in a horizontally balanced
position.
1) Slightly loosen the screw on the carrying lug for the
carrying harness so that the carrying lug can be moved.
2) Move the carrying lug on the upper shaft tube (8) so that
the tool is balanced as described above, depending on the
cutting tool.
3) Tighten the screw on the carrying lug again when the tool is
positioned correctly.
9. Getting started
Before using the tool, insert both batteries (see Fig. I) and put on
the carrying harness (52).
WARNING!
Never use the tool without a protective cover (12).
Wear suitable clothing as well as eye and ear protection
when working with the tool.
Ensure that the tool is in working order before each use.
The On/Off switch (14), the safety lock-out (4) and
the start lever (3) must not be locked. The motor must stop
when the start lever is released. Do not use the tool if a
switch is defective or damaged.

Observe noise protection and local regulations.
