7.4. Fitting / changing the cutting tool
(Fig. E/F)
Note
The washer (39), spring washer (38) and nut (37) are
not required for fitting the strimmer (23) and can be re-
moved.
Make sure that the motor is switched off and remove the
batteries (50).
Place the tool on the ground so that it has a secure hold.
Turn it so that you can work comfortably on the underside
of the protective cover (12).
Lock the mounting spindle (34) by pressing down the
pin (36) and holding it down. While doing this, turn the
drive disc (35) a little until it locks.
Fitting the strimmer
Remove the washer (39), spring washer (38) and
nut (37) before assembly.
Screw the strimmer (23) anticlockwise onto the mounting
spindle (34).
Then release the pin (36) to unlock the mounting
spindle (34).
Follow the steps in reverse order to remove the strimmer (23)
again.
Pull the two ends of the line to release the lines from the
grooves.
Trim the line to about 15 cm.
Fitting the 3-tooth blade
Remove the washer (39), spring washer (38) and
nut (37) before assembly.
Place the 3-tooth blade (20) on the mounting spindle (34).
The lettering on the blade/ should be facing upwards.
Fasten the 3-tooth blade (20) with washer (39), spring
washer (38) and nut (37). The nut (37) can be tight-
ened with the multifunction key (19). Tighten the
nut (37) anticlockwise.
Then release the pin (36) to unlock the mounting
spindle (34).
Follow the steps in reverse order to remove the 3-tooth
blade (20) again.
Note
If the 3-tooth blade (20) becomes blunt, it can be resharp-
ened by a specialised workshop.
If it is damaged or unbalanced, it must be replaced.
7.5. Fitting the saw chain and blade
WARNING!
Wear protective gloves!
There is a risk of injury from the sharp cutting teeth!
Note
Pay close attention to the running direction of the saw
chain (59) on the blade (60) and at the base plate (pole
pruner)
.
Depending on wear, the blade (60) can be turned.
Loosen the nut (61) with the multifunction key (19).
Remove the chain sprocket cover (56).
Place the saw chain (59) around the blade (60), starting
at the tip.
Now fit the blade (60) and saw chain (59).
Lay the guide rail (66) over the blade guide (66a) while
inserting the chain tensioner pin (69) into the blade
hole (65). At the same time, lay the saw chain (59)
over the chain sprocket (67).
Now you can tighten the saw chain (59) (see section
7.7. Tightening and checking the saw chain).
Reattach the sprocket cover (56) and tighten the nut (61)
firmly.
7.6. Removing the saw chain
You may have to loosen the saw chain (59) to remove the
