BALANCE
RCR-2CENR RADIO SYSTEM
Your Redcat Sixty-Four comes pre-balanced to achieve the most realistic hopping performance. Weight balance can be adjusted to
compensate for the weight of a different battery, the weight of additional custom parts, or to customize hopping performance.
RADIO SETUP
RCR-2CENR RADIO SYSTEM
Setting up the radio properly for the Redcat Sixty-four is a bit more complicated than your typical RC vehicle, but with a little bit of care
and patience, you can have it set-up in no time! This procedure will be necessary when replacing servos or resetting the radio.
1. With a fresh vehicle file
in the Radio, all endpoints
should be set to 100%
Hopping Servo:
The car's balance point is around the rear axle. Adding accessories anywhere in front of the rear axle or
using a lighter battery than the stock 3800 mAh NiMh battery will require additional weight to be inserted
beneath the battery at the rear of the vehicle. Install as many of the included steel plates as required
underneath the battery. The Sixty-Four must be balanced correctly to perform at its best. (left image)
It is also possible to remove weight from the rear of the vehicle if needed. The
Sixty-four comes with a series of steel plates pre-installed in the trunk, underneath
the chassis. If you use a heavier than stock battery, or remove weight from the front,
it may be necessary to remove some of the trunk plates to achieve the desired
hopping performance. The trunk can be removed by unscrewing the M3 screws
holding the trunk in place. (right image)
The plates are taped in place from the factory, so removing them from the trunk will
likely require prying with a flathead screwdriver or similar implement. Ensure that the
plates remaining in the trunk are secure before reinstallation, or undesirable operation may result.
The servo horn should be installed on the hopping servo with lever 3 in the down position,
which corresponds to the position shown. (left image)
The transfer rods connected to the forward end of the main bellcrank should be just
barely touching the front suspension mount in their lower position.

BELLCRANK
Now move lever 3 slowly slowly towards the upper position, until the front suspension
stops moving. If you go too far, the servo horn will start to bend and could eventually
break. The upper endpoint of channel 3 should be set so that the arm does not bend with
the lever in the full up position. This is approximately in this position. (left image)

2. All servos should be connected to the
receiver and the levers to channels 3, 4, 5
and 6 should be in the down position.
3. Turn on the vehicle. This should
position the servos to the appropriate
position for servo horn installation.
