SETTING GEAR MESH
RCR-2CENR RADIO SYSTEM
Proper gear mesh is very important. Improperly meshed gears will result in gear, motor, ESC and battery failure.
1. Using a 1.5mm hex driver, remove the two screws that secure the gear cover. (Img. 1, 2)
2. Using a hex driver, slightly loosen the two screws that secure the motor. (Img. 3)

3. With the motor mount screws loosened, the motor should be able to
slide, opening the gap between the pinion and spur gear.
4. Place a strip of paper between the pinion and spur gears.
5. Firmly press the pinion to the spur gear.
6. Ensure blue thread lock is on the motor mounting screws & lightly
tighten each screw.
7. Check for movement between the two gears and tighten the motor mount screws completely. Alternate between screws as tightening.
8. Remove paper and check gear mesh. (see below)
Gears Are Too Loose:
There is too much movement
between the two gears.
RESULT: Stripped gears.
9. Once gearmesh is properly set, replace the gear
cover.
10. Using a 1.5mm hex driver, reinstall the two screws
that secure the gear cover.

Gears Are Spaced Correctly:
TEST: Hold the pinion gear completely still. Place a
finger nail on the spur gear and try to rock it back and
forth. There should be a very small (almost no) amount
of movement in the spur gear.
