4.9 and the 2 wooden strips 4.8. The 3 parts
are flush at the bottom edge.

Make sure that the grain of the strips runs in
opposite directions to prevent the boom from
warping.

The main boom can now be stained, primed
and painted.
The jib boom is made from parts 4.12 and
4.13.

Glue the two mouldings on the right and left
onto the laser part. Sand the edges.
Now you can stain, prime and then paint the jib
boom.
The next steps are to build the fittings for the
rig.
Firstly, assemble the spreader from parts 4.14
to 4.20.
Separate part 4.15 from the photoetched plate
and smooth the outer edges.

If the cutting edges are not etched through,

saw them with a fine fretsaw blade for metal.
Bend the flanges upwards by 90°.

Now bend the mast bearing around the mast at
380 mm from the top of the mast.
