Bevel the strips and also the frames to match
the course of the planks. Bevelling and
straightening the frames is particularly impor-
tant for the bow frames. This ensures good
support for the planks.

Now you should fit the two bowden cable
bearings 2.57 in the stern bulkhead.
File out the laser-cut holes at an angle so that
the bushes are horizontal in the stern bulkhead
and lie flat. The two Bowden cable bearings
are only glued in after the planking.

There are 2 ways of attaching the rear tran-
som.
A) Glue on the transom in this construction
step and let the planks run out onto the
transom. This would also be the original
way of working, but the disadvantage here
is that no clamps can be used to hold the
planks in place when gluing them on.
B) The transom is only glued on after the hull
has been planked. This does not corre-
spond to the original method of working.
However, clamps can be used to fix the
planks when gluing them on.
We have chosen route B for our deco model.
Decide for yourself how you want to proceed.
Now you can start planking.
You should use glue very sparingly, as no stain
will be accepted in places where glue has
overflowed.
Before planking, it is advisable to stain the
planks to give them a base colour.
Here is a brief description of the planking
process.
This consists of the bottom keel plank 1 and
the following planks 2-16.
The clinker planks have an overlap of ap-
proximately 1mm. The bearing surface is
sanded according to the bearing angle so that
the planks lie flat on top of each other. (Draw-
ing 1)
We can use superglue to quickly fix the planks
to the bow stem.
The planks have already been milled to shape
and are slightly oversized towards the stern. At
the stern, the planks are milled straight from
plank 5 (drawing 3).
For planking, we lay the planks on the bow
stem for measurement. Let the planks end at
the pointed, sanded support strip (drawing
2.4). Glue the planks together from bow to
stern.
Before gluing, it is best to staple 2-3 planks to
the frames and stem to plan the correct
course. This will also prevent you from getting
the wrong plank. As a precaution, you should
also mark the overlap of the boards in some
