piece of sheet line 6.23 to the right-hand lug
and lead it back over the block on the backstay
to the 2nd lug.
Fit and fasten cleat 7.1 with 7.2 and attach the
end of the line to it. The backstay can be
tensioned with this line.
Next, fit the prepared spreader to the mast.
Refer to drawing 5 for the dimensions. The
spreader is attached to the mast 380 mm from
the top.

Screw a bracket 4.35 to the mast at 760 mm
from above using 2 screws 4.37. Drill the two
holes for the mounting bracket into the mast
and glue the bracket 4.36 into the mast. Bend
an S-hook 4.44. Attach the turnbuckles 6.20
and hook them into the bracket.

Unscrew the turnbuckle as far apart as possi-
ble. Pull the shroud through the eye in the
spreader on both sides and fasten it to the
turnbuckle with a loop and crimp sleeve.
The jumpstay can now be tensioned via the
turnbuckle.
Screw 3 brackets 6.13 with screws 6.14 un-
derneath the spreader. 2 on the side of the
mast for the shrouds and one at the front of the
mast for attaching the forestay with foresail.
For the shrouds, screw the 2 eyebolts 3.53 into
the holes in the deck at the points provided so

that the hole is parallel to the edge of the deck
and secure with superglue.

Hook in the shroud tensioner 6.17. Screw on
the shroud tensioner to the maximum. Attach
the shroud rope to the side lug on the mast
with a loop and clamping sleeve and pull it
down through the free end of the shroud ten-
sioner and secure it with a loop and clamping
sleeve. Tighten the shroud tensioners to ten-
sion the shrouds slightly.
The next step is to attach the jib to the mast
and deck.
When making the jib, you have already glued
the forestay into the jib. Attach an S-hook to
the top end of the forestay using a loop and
crimp sleeve and attach the jib to the lug under
the spreader. Attach the jib halyard to the sail
head and lead it down through the lug to the
cleat.

Attach the cover 2.59 to the jib fitting 2.58 and
glue it to the deck. Bend an S-hook 4.44 and
hook the swivel 6.28 into the eye. Bend a ring
from 4.44. Hook it into the jib boom and attach
the swivel. The jib boom can now be hooked
into the jib fitting with the hook.
Also attach the turnbuckle 6.16 to the forestay
fitting using a bolt 6.18 and nut 6.19. Unscrew
the turnbuckle as far as possible and fasten
the forestay at the end with a loop and crimp
sleeve.
