Glue the guides to the recesses in frames 13
and 14.
The bench seat can now be glued onto the
guides in any position.
The traveller is now needed for the cockpit.
Glue the laser parts 3.54 together and sand.
Make the two brackets for the traveller attach-
ment from parts 3.55 and 3.56.

Separate the parts from the etched plate and
clean up the edges. Bend parts 3.56 at the
bend lines to form a 'U' and insert through the
slots in part 3.55, solder or glue with epoxy
glue.
Sand down the rear sides and the excess
adhesive or solder.
Place the brackets in the recesses in the
cockpit side wall and secure with 2 screws
3.57 each.

Now fit the traveller between the brackets and
screw it in place using screws 3.58 and nuts
3.59.

Fig.: Guidance
Separate the guidance 3.60 from the etched
plate and screw it centrally onto the traveller
using screws 3.62. Bend a U-bracket 3.61. Drill
the holes for the bracket in the centre. Insert a
block 4.41 and glue the bracket into the travel-
ler.
Drill a 3 mm hole offset in the centre to ac-
commodate the compass later.
In the next construction stage, you will build
the mast and the booms.
Stage 4, mast and main boom
The mast and the booms are made from layers
of laser parts and wooden strips.

Please also see the larger image below.
The mast consists of 2 halves, each made up
of 3 layers. Make sure that you make 2 mir-
rored halves. The greatest thickness of the
mast is 16 mm at the base and 14 mm at the
top. The first layer 4.1 consists of 2 parts, the
second layer 4.2 consists of 3 parts and the
third layer 4.3 also consists of 3 parts. The
sections are positioned so that the joints are
offset. Waterproof wood glue is best suited for
gluing. The first layer is glued with a tenon
joint. Sand off the black laser burn at the joints.
The attachment points are labelled a-a and b-b
on the layers. Glue on the outer layer 4.3 so
that the labelling is on the inside and no longer
visible.
Ensure that the individual layers are glued in a
straight line.
