In the next step, build the superstructure roof.
Mask off the reinforcements 3.6 with Sellotape
so that no adhesive gets on the reinforcements
when building the roof and the roof can be
removed again.
When building the prototype model, the roof
was made in an earlier step, which is why the
deck is not yet glued on in the following pic-
tures.

Fig.: Structure of the roof
Clamp the two roof rails 3.23 against the
reinforcement strips 3.6 or fix them with adhe-
sive tape and insert and glue the roof frames
3.18 to 3.22. Glue the two sliding hatch frames
3.24 between frames 3.20 and 3.22.
Mask the inside of the front wall of the super-
structure with Sellotape.
Clamp the front roof frame 3.17 diagonally
against the front wall and glue it to the roof
frame.

Fig.: Gluing in the roof frame
Glue the roof frame 3.17 to the reinstalled roof
structure. Ensure that no adhesive gets onto
the superstructure parts.
Carefully remove the roof structure from the
hull.

Fig.: Roof
Glue the roof 3.16 onto the roof structure with
an even overhang.
Make an aid from scrap wood to mark out the
spacing of the handrail. Drill a 1 mm hole at a
distance of 30 mm from the stop. Stick a strip
of adhesive paper tape to the roof to prevent
the pencil from scoring the roof. Now draw a
line parallel to the outer edge.
Fig.: Drawing a line
Mark the centre of the handrail feet on the line
and drill with D 2.0 mm. Insert screws 3.26 into
the two outer handrail feet from below. It is
necessary to pre-drill with D 1.8 mm for the
screws in the handrails. Screw the handrails to
the roof in this way.
