w) Installing the canopy

Glue the front plastic holder with the rectangular holes (1) into the fuselage cut-
out. Glue the front plastic holder with the rectangular lugs (2) into the fuselage
cut-out.
Fit the rear plastic holder with a hole (3) into the rear cut-out of the canopy and
glue it on. Attach the magnet (4) to the plastic holder (3).
Finally, the small iron piece (5) is glued into the fuselage.
Before gluing on the small iron piece (5), determine or check the exact position
by putting on the canopy. Depending on the dimension of the servos used, the
servo linkage might touch the underside of the canopy (3) when the canopy is
attached. In this case, proceed as shown in ill. 24b to remove part of the structure.
Practical tip:
If you carefully heat up the little metal piece using a soldering
iron, you can press it into the foam so that its surface is flush with
the foam. This leaves a minimal opening at the canopy.
First, cut out the transparent canopy glazing (1) along the indicated cut edge. See ill 24a.
Important:
Work step by step, leaving enough space to cut off more and more
until you have the ideal fit.
The shaped canopy part (see ill. 24a, pos. 2) is painted with water-soluble black paint in the glazed section. When the paint is dry, the glazing can be attached
and glued on.
Practical tip:
Slim adhesive tape can be used instead of glue. Use several short strips of adhesive tape to avoid wrinkles in the front section of the strongly
vaulted canopy.
