USB storage device
External hard disks and USB flash drives can be
used as storage medium. Ensure that the hard
disk is formatted using one of the supported file
systems. You will find additional information in the
chapter "Technical data" in the appendix.
Insert the USB storage medium into a USB slot.
The software automatically recognizes the stor-
age device. It can be selected directly via the
message or can be set or changed in the settings
under "Recording" for manual recordings or for
visual backup recordings.
Ensure that the USB flash drive is formatted using
one of the supported file systems. You will find
additional information in the chapter "Technical
data" in the appendix.

Network storage

File shares in the network can also be selected
as the storage location for manual recordings or
Visual Backup recordings.
Information on setting up file shares using
Windows 10 and Linux (Ubuntu) as examples can
be found in the appendix under "Setting up file
shares".
Connecting a network storage device
In the settings under "Recording" in the "Network
storage" section, click on the "Network storage"
button. A new expandable element will appear
82
where you can specify the access data to your
share. Click on "Connect" to establish a connec-
tion to the network drive. Each time the system is
started up, the connection is automatically re-es-
tablished as long as the file share is available.
Several profiles can be created, which can be
switched between by clicking on the respective
element.
Visual Backup and "tags"
With Visual Backup, the camera system offers the
function of a video monitoring system. This allows
processes in the machine to be continuously
recorded in the background and saved for a defin-
able period of time.
If Visual Backup is activated, recordings are saved
for the entire duration of the set recording period.
The recording period can be defined in the set-
tings under "Recording" in the "Visual Backup set-
tings" section. Recordings that exceed the total
duration of the defined recording period are auto-
matically deleted by the system using an auto-
matic deletion cycle.
"Tags"
Important moments can be marked with a
so-called "tag". This can be done immediately at
the desired time in the user interface or subse-
quently in the gallery. "Tags" can be assigned to a
category, categories can be created and selected
when setting a "tag".
As soon as a "tag" is set, the corresponding
part of the recording is excluded from the auto-
matic deletion cycle and saved permanently.
OPERATING MANUAL
As soon as all "tags" of the corresponding record-
ings have been deleted, they are included in the
automatic deletion cycle again.
Capture mode
Capture mode can be activated via the menu icon
at the top left of the user interface. Various man-
ual recording modes are then available. You can
switch between photo, video, time-lapse and slow
motion recording. The capture button is used to
trigger the recording of a video or photo. While
the capture mode is active, Visual Backup contin-
ues to run in the background if it is activated.
Note that 4K recording and slow motion
recording are not available while Visual Backup is
running in the background.
Deactivate Visual Backup to use these recording
modes.
This does not affect video capture up to FullHD
and photo capture, which are still possible when
Visual Backup is enabled.
Media gallery
You can access the media gallery via the
media gallery button in the user interface (left
button of the buttons arranged in the middle at
the bottom of the screen). There are two views to
choose from.
Timeline
The timeline can be used to navigate to any point
in time in the past or to go back to the live view.
"Tags" and recordings or photos taken are listed
83
on the timeline at the respective times. Sections in
which no recording has taken place are displayed
in gray shading.
List
A list of all "tags" and recordings or photos is dis-
played next to a preview. It is possible to download
recordings and "tags" to your end device (web
user interface only). Elements can be deleted. The
deletion cannot be undone.
Filters and categories
"Tags" and recordings can be filtered and dis-
played in both views using the filter or category
function. Various predefined time periods can be
selected via the time filter or self-defined time
periods via the calendar element
Alignment sensor
The camera head is equipped with a orientation
sensor that can be used to automatically align the
camera image, i.e. when installing it on the spindle.
The function can be activated or deactivated in
the settings under "Operation".
Light
The camera head has LEDs for illuminating the
working area. These can be switched on and off or
dimmed (from camera head V5.0) in the menu.
Spinning window
The spinning window can be temporarily stopped
