ROTOCLEAR C PRO
The screw-in depth may be max. 4 mm, the
tightening torque max. 1.5 Nm.
The data cable connected to the interface
(Fig. 3-A) and the sealing air tube (Fig. 3-B) can
also be routed in the area exposed to media with-
out additional protective tubing, provided that
they are adequately protected against damage
from chips or other sharp-edged parts and all
plug connections have been tightened to the cor-
rect torque.
Make sure that the system is disconnected
from the power supply. Connect the data cable
firmly with the plug to the corresponding interface
(Fig. 3-A) on the rear, such that the plug closes
tightly. The tightening torque for the M12 plug-in
connections is 0.6 Nm. Connect the plug connec-
tor to your compressed air supply (Fig. 3-B).
When installing the camera head, please observe
the safety regulations, including the grounding
and the optional use of the pigtail cable for use in
wet rooms, see the chapter "Startup".
Control unit
The control unit is typically installed on a top hat
rail according to DIN EN 60715 in the control cab-
inet or in a protected area meant for electronic
devices. Please note that, among other things,
the control unit with IP30 ingress protection is not
protected against the ingress of fluids.
On the back of the device there is a connection for
grounding (Fig. 4-A) and a button for resetting the
device (Fig. 4-B).
For top-hat rail mounting, you can use the pre-
mounted top-hat rail clip. It can be rotated in steps
of 90° and affixed to the housing. This allows you
66
to attach the control unit in the desired posi-
tion. Open the locking mechanism of the top-hat
rail clip by pulling the handle (Fig. 4-2). Hook the
upper tab of the top-hat rail clip into the upper
edge of the top-hat rail. Press the control unit
down slightly and close the latch by pushing the
handle back into the vertical position (Fig. 4-1) and
snapping it into the lower edge of the top-hat rail.

To remove the Control unit, open the latch of the
top-hat rail clip by pulling the handle. The device
can now be easily moved upwards and removed.
Do not open the housing of the control unit,
as this will void all warranty claims.
OPERATING MANUAL
Supply lines
Lay the data cable (Fig. 2-A1) from the camera
head and/or the adapter of the mount into the
control cabinet and/or to the installation site of the
control unit. When doing so, ensure proper seal-
ing at the transitions from areas exposed to media
into protected areas and/or into the control cab-
inet.
Connect the data cable to the interface for the
first camera head labeled "Head A". Connect an
optional second camera head to the "Head B"
interface.
The tightening torque for the M12 plug-in
connections is 0.6 Nm. Ensure that the torque is
adhered to, as liquids could penetrate the camera
head if the tightening is too loose or too tight.
When laying the data cables, ensure that no inter-
fering signals from neighboring power cables can
disrupt the transmission. We recommend to use
the data cables provided.
Please ensure the dryness and cleanliness as
well as the correct configuration of the sealing air
supplied. Pay attention to the requirements for
the sealing air which are indicated in the chapter
"Technical data" in the appendix.
The camera head is equipped with a pressure
sensor. It helps with the correct configuration
of the sealing air and monitors it constantly. An
incorrect configuration or damage to the system
is detected and a warning displayed in the user
interface.
The pressure sensor measures the absolute
pressure. This means that the ambient pressure is
also measured. Without sealing air applied, a pres-
sure of approx. 1,000 mbar is already displayed.
67
The exact measured value depends, among other
things, on the region and the weather. The sealing
air only has to ensure the difference between the
ambient pressure and the specified pressure (see
chapter "Technical data").
We do not recommend pointing the camera
head upwards. If the sealing air supply is insuffi-
cient or the machine is switched off, liquids can
penetrate the labyrinth more easily.
If the rotor disk is damaged, please refer to the
chapter "Changing the rotor". Leaks due to con-
taminated or insufficient sealing air will impair the
sight and the functioning of Rotoclear C Pro. If
necessary, pre-treat the sealing air using a service
unit with a multi-stage filter system.
Both the camera head and the control unit
have a connection for grounding (Fig. 2-H, Fig. 4-A
respectively). Connect both to the grounding con-
ductor using a grounding cable. Make absolutely
sure that all devices are connected to the same
protective earth conductor.
Signal amplifier (accessory)
The length of the data cable connecting the cam-
era head and the control computer is limited to
20 m (see chapter "Technical data" in the appen-
dix). It is possible to extend this length with the
Rotoclear C-Extender signal amplifier (Fig. 5-A).
Up to two signal amplifiers per camera head can
be used in the supply line. Each of these devices
adds the maximum possible data cable length
without signal amplifier: with one signal amplifier
the maximum possible length is 2 × 20 m, with two
signal amplifiers the maximum possible length is
3 × 20 m.
Pay attention to the alignment according to
