3 Reprocessing (Cleaning / Disinfection and
Sterilisation)
The warranty for the cleaning and sterilisation of the handpiece is limited to 250 reprocessing
and sterilisation cycles.
The recommendations of the Working Group Instrument Reprocessing (AKI) provide further
information on how to properly reprocess reusable medical devices:

Cleaning / Disinfection

3.1.1

Handpiece, by Machine

The handpiece of the SonicWeld Rx
It can be reprocessed with programme sequences that are authorised for surgical instruments
and implants. For the cleaning process observe the instructions by the manufacturers of the
cleaning machines and by the manufacturers of the cleaning agents. The process including
loading must guarantee sufficient removal of residuals.
Only mildly alkaline cleaning agents are authorised for use.
Disconnect handpiece from the device and secure with protection cap.

Wind up connection cable together with handpiece in a circle. The minimum diameter must

be 20 cm. We recommend using our storage rack.
Place the handpiece in the instrument washer in a way that the opening with the sonotrode
•
on top of the handpiece points downwards.
This is to ensure that no cleaning fluids can collect in the handpiece.
