Operation

2.1

Function

The ultrasonic unit of the SonicWeld Rx
oscillations (ultrasound) which cause heating on the border areas between bone and

SonicPin Rx and by doing so allow the SonicPins Rx
2.2

Safety Functions

The system can only transfer energy if the resonance frequency of the sonotrode
•
(item 19 – 22, foldout front page) is not modified due to too high mechanical load. In case
of too high mechanical load (excessive pressure on the SonicPin Rx
the system will be turned off automatically.
The system is protected against overload by built-in fuses.

Self-test: After turning on the device the system performs an automatic function check of
•
the complete system. After the successful check the device switches to operating mode.
In this check the following points are tested:
— Whether the connected components are complete
— Whether the handpiece is functional
— The basic insulation
— Whether the internal operating software has loaded properly
— Whether the fuses are functioning properly
WARNING
Life hazard for the patient due to improper power connection!
The device must not be combined with other devices.

The device must not be connected to a mains that also supplies life-supporting systems.
