The M2Smart
HMI Case is normally held by the handle with the left hand. This makes it possible to operate
the enabling switch with the fingers.
This enabling switch is designed as a panic-proof switch, i.e. if the enabling switch is pressed all the way
down or released in an emergency situation, the safety control goes into safe operation.
Operation of the three-stage enabling switch M2Zustimm10 [Enable] according to (IEC 60947-5-8) is
described below:
The enabling switch operates on three stages based on three positions:
Position 1: Idle position
Position 2: Working position
Position 3: Panic position
Release key:
Button falls back to position 1 without activating the enabling signal.
The working contacts of the enabling switch are actuated in the center position (position 2). A clearly
noticeable pressure point is implemented in the design for this. In the event of a panic action/injury, the
operator would either squeeze firmly (position 3) or release the handle (position 1). In both situations the
working contacts of the enabling switch are deactivated and the system is stopped. Position 2 "Working
position" must therefore be actively actuated and held. The main use is for setting up or maintaining
machines or robots within hazardous areas.
22.3 Connection Cable
The connection cable has a length of 5 meters (a version with 10 meters is optionally available).
