15 Foreword
15.1 Purpose of the Document
This document describes the M2Smart
®
The M2Smart HMI Case is intended for use on machines that have, for example, a safety controller (safety
PLC) and require a wired safety system for an Emergency Stop and for an enabling function.
A 10" tablet can be inserted and locked in the M2Smart
connected machine cable. The tablet has no connection to the Emergency Stop and enabling switch. The
signals of the Emergency Stop and the enabling switch are each connected to the machine cable in two
channels and can be connected to a safety PLC.
The tablet used is not a component of the M2Smart
This document contains all relevant requirements from MRL 2006/42/EC.
15.2 Target Group for the Documentation
This description is intended for users and for trained technical personnel who are familiar with the applicable
national and international standards and regulations.
For installation and commissioning of the component, it is absolutely necessary to observe the following
instructions and explanations.
The qualified personnel must ensure that the application or use of the products described here complies with
all safety requirements, including all applicable laws, regulations, provisions and standards.
