To unlock the M2Smart HMI Case, first open the eccentric lever:

21.2.3 Inserting the Tablet and Connecting the USB Cable

First pull apart the M2Smart HMI Case and insert the tablet. Plug the USB cable into the tablet.

When using the iPad 8th generation, an adapter from USB-C socket to Lightning is required.
This is not included in the scope of delivery.
The USB plug is only used for charging and is not a data interface on any tablets.
